The Gillette Toggle
Another one of the favourite one piece adjustables of all times, introducing the gold toggle made only for a year ( 1960 ; there was another toggle version made in 1958 ), Like the fatboy adjustable, the adjusting collar raises or lowers the blade assembly and angle and affecting blade aggressiveness from scale of 1 to 9, with a red dot as an indicator. Unlike the conventional twist to open mechanisms of other razors, the toggle utilises a toggle switch at the other end to open and close the butterfly cage - the switch at the bottom makes it one of the most easily identified razor.

The toggle on the left is a more used copy of my razor rotation
On the left ( is my more used but not abused ) toggle shows the butterfly cage doors open with a flick of the toggle switch at the bottom. The straightened toggle switch will close the blade cage tight. With a longer handle ( longer than that of the slim adjustable )and better weight distribution, I find this to be a better balanced gillette razor than my Fatboys.
The toggle switch rubs up against the base of the handle so it will almost always abraide the gold coating off after prolong use, which i find to be a little heartbreaking annoyance - but thats a tiny aesthetic nit to this great shaving razor design.
